I’ll be the first to admit it, when we started looking at getting a dog, I was against getting a pit bull. Because I’ve always been a cat person, all I ever heard about were the bad stories about pit … Continue reading
A few weeks ago, Zach and I went out to dinner with some friends at Red Sushi (which if you haven’t been there, you should go. Like now.). Afterwards we decided to wander down State Street to grab a few … Continue reading
Let me start out by welcoming Miss Madelyn Elizabeth to the family! After a few months of debating and searching, my fiance and I finally got a puppy. I’d like to think that we prepared ourselves well for what … Continue reading
Zach and I don’t go to many concert, but last week we couldn’t turn down the opportunity to go to two concerts here in Madison. As you may recall, we rocked out with Skrillex on Monday night and then we … Continue reading
My typical Monday nights usually consist of skipping a workout and vegging on the couch all night. Whelp, I’d say this past Monday night was slightly more eventful. Zach and I could not turn down an invitation to go see … Continue reading
My best friend and I swore that if Mumford & Sons came to a city near us, we would have to go. They have been touring in Europe and hardly make stops in the US. They are my favorite band … Continue reading
Well, well, well…it is officially summer for me!! When I ended my spring classes, I started my summer classes 3 days later. I have to say, that even though I have had classes the majority of the time, it has been one of the best summers ever. I have done lots of fun stuff including going to Vegas, a Brewers vs. Twins game, visiting Wisconsin, The Color Run, playing on a sand-volleyball league, going out in Minneapolis, and tons of fun stuff around Mankato.
Yesterday was officially my last class of my first year of grad school. After getting a little speech from one of the professors of my program, it really hit me that life is about to get really exciting! In three weeks we will begin our internships and start doing the work we have been waiting to do for the last 5 years! I would be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t a little nervous. I mean, it’s a culmination of a lot of work and I…1. Hope I love it. 2. Am able to survive with the many different obligations I have. 3. Don’t screw up too badly.
So, in my little bit of time off I will be moving up to The Twin Cities. I am SOOOOO excited to move. I am sad, of course, because I made a lot of good friends in Mankato and it does feel like a home now. BUT, I will still be back and fourth for school and work. Right now I am in the process of moving. I HATE moving and have done so every year for the last 7 years. I see how much crap I have, and it is honestly shocking. I am vowing that when I get my stuff unpacked I will purge my closet and get rid of the clothes I haven’t worn since high school.
My song of the week is “Summer in the City” by The Lovin’ Spoonful. I am so excited to spend August “Livin in the City” and getting to know my way around. There’s lots of awesome concerts and festivals in August (including the State Fair that will feature the Hanson Brothers…) that I will check out after moving.
First, I want to say how happy I am that Miss Allie came up with this awesome idea to do themed, joint posts on Humpday! You can look forward to many more posts like these to come. Second, I am so happy that Allie chose “Song for the Week” for this week’s theme…
…because, quite honestly, it has been a really tough two weeks for my family. I often find it hard to express my emotions during hard times, so I chose a song that I felt encompassed what I feel but cannot say.
I do have to say, though, that as hard as it is to deal with life’s adversities, it always makes me appreciate the love and support that exists within my family. I am so grateful every single day to have the family I do, and I cannot wait for this weekend when we will all be together!
So, with that said, my song of the week is “Amen Omen” by Ben Harper.
Amen omen, can I find the strength within…
So, this post starts out with a sad story. On Thursday night I had my wallet stolen from me. Luckily, it did not have EVERYTHING in it, but it did have my driver’s license, debit card, my iPhone, and about … Continue reading
Considering the fact I lived in Milwaukee (very briefly) and now live only an hour away, you’d think I’d spend more time exploring what Milwaukee has to offer. Truth is, I’m lucky if I visit Milwaukee once a year and … Continue reading
I was an Android at one point in my life. I was originally choosing between paying extra and getting an iPhone or getting an Android. I chose the Samsung Galaxy S and HATED it. I had so many issues with … Continue reading
